As counsel to more than 30 schools, Johnston Law Firm provides legal services in the areas of board governance, Sunshine Law and Right-to-Know compliance, personnel management, real estate transactions, creation of “Friends” entities, special education, Department of Education audits, charter management agreements, public bidding, tax, corporate governance, disputes with local resident school districts and other business matters.  We also represent charter management organizations with respect to their contracts with charter schools and in general matters. Our educational practice extends to serving as general counsel to schools for children with special needs.  We handle matters relating to Department of Education audits, student discipline, employment and business matters, board governance and general risk management.
